Our specialty here at Recollection is to retrieve, restore, and enhance your precious memories. We all have a drawer full of old phones. You can’t find the charger, you may not know how to get things off of it if you did. Maybe the old laptop in the closet had pictures on it, and you can’t remember what might be there. Maybe you know for sure that your child’s first birthday video is on the old desktop in the garage, but you haven’t even hooked it up in years. Maybe you only have the tape, but the camera died years ago? We can help.
Your memories are delivered to you via a custom secure web application which is designed from the ground up to help you organize your photos. Other delivery options are available, but we think you’ll love the web application which is currently only available to customers. We pride ourselves on doing basic organization of unorganized photos in such a way that no human ever sees them unless requested. We have developed several custom tools which can organize files before final encryption so that you’re not left with an unorganized folder of several thousand images. When we ARE requested to curate the organization of your collection, we use this app ourselves!
We have a developed custom face matching that is very accurate, and we leave the controls up to you! The people in your life are important! Our software allows you to give optional details about each person for further organization. You can also request that the system find more pictures of that face any time you want, and control how picky it is.
Laptops, desktops, phones, paper photos, video tapes, hard drives, cameras, wherever your memories are, we’ll do everything we can to get them back safely and securely. Have an old phone from your earlier partying years and don’t necessarily want to send that device out to strangers? We understand discretion and guarantee security among your restored photos. In fact, most recovery operations can be done without any human eyes seeing your photos these days. If you’re concerned about discretion, just tick the box on the order form and no humans will see your photos. If you’re more concerned with recovery over discretion, we are happy to sort your recovered photos by face or event to the best of our ability.

New Service: We can aide in recovering lost or stolen devices! We’ve had a fair amount of success recently locating lost or stolen devices using some minor detective work and tools with which we were already familiar.
By request: How it works!
We’ve gotten some requests to include a more in-depth explanation of how the process works. You’re nervous about your precious photos or device, we get that.
You contact us, we arrange a pickup/delivery of the device or media. We give you the address where it will be and guarantee it remains there until completion. In some cases, we put a tracker on the device or box of photos, and register it to you so that you can see where it is at all times. Overkill? Probably. However, if you’re anything like us, your memories are your most prized possession.
If you’re located near us and absolutely cannot part ways with your photos, we are able to go on-site for the scanning process and then we can touch them up remotely and deliver them to you. With media retrieval from devices, we’ll more than likely need to take them back to our lab. This is mostly due to the large devices and in-house tech that we have set up here, but partially because media retrieval can sometimes be an incredibly long boring and frustrating process. That’s a nice way of saying that we process in-house so that you don’t see us cry. Also, one of us sometimes does a very embarrassing happy dance when filenames start appearing on the screen. We live for restoring memories.
Delivery of media generally happens online. If you want physical media, we include a USB drive with your original media or device when we return it. Otherwise, depending on the size of the media, you’ll have access to a custom password-protected website to download your files, which will be encrypted with a password we’ll tell you over the phone. We also take privacy very seriously.
As you might imagine, we get in a decent amount of computers, laptops, tablets, etc. For the most part, our clients are only worried about their data and do not need their (mostly broken) hardware…
